Device: Lenovo T16 Operating System/Browser: Windows - All browsers: Chrome, Edge and Firefox Dropbox Plan: Plus Question or Issue When I enter my .edu email and password (which are correct) the screen just simply doesn't move. Initially I was getting an email to enter a 6 digit verification code but there was nowhere on the screen to enter it regardless of the browser or incognito window and I have no extensions etc. that may be blocking a screen. Eventually it stopped the 6 digit code and not asks for these long laborious captchas, which I have gone through about 7/8 times on three different browsers. I finish the captcha and it says "Congratulations you verified you are human" then depending on the browser the screen either just remains on the login screen or sends a yellow sticker saying the captcha wasn't verified correctly (which it was). Completely at a loss how to login to the web version because I have to recover something from the trash. This free account that I am using to post the issue (since I can't login on my paid one) is logging in just fine, as are a couple of my other free accounts with gmail domains. My paid account is an .edu domain.32Views0likes5CommentsBrowser gives "Previous sign in interrupted" error when trying to sign in to desktop app
I made an account yesterday (with the basic free account) and downloaded the desktop app. One problem is that no icon appears on my desktop. If I need to open the app, I have to press the Windows key and type the name in. The major problem is that I can't sign into the desktop app. It would open my default browser (Edge) for me to sign in and then that page would change to "Successfully logged in. Open Dropbox" but then the app would give an error "Previous sign in interrupted. Please try again." immediately after. I've uninstalled the app, reinstalled it, restarted my laptop, cleared my browser's data, but still get the same error. I'm able to sign in on my other browser (Firefox) and mobile browser (Chrome app) without any issues. It's just the windows desktop app.Solved133Views0likes11Comments"Invalid Email Or Password" when the team is trying to log into Dropbox on all platforms.
My team has dropbox downloaded on several devices. Mobiles & Tablets: both IOS and Android. Computers: Mac and PC - yet for some reason we cannot go online (tried most browsers) and access the dropbox account online. I manage the account and have not changed the password, so why do we all get the "Invalid Email or password" message? - And yes - I have cleared history.Solved32KViews2likes16CommentsNo security apps but still can't log into my account on the web on specific computer
I know my user NAMES and PASSWORDS. I CAN login in on any computer, except the ONE that I need my Dropbox working. I have tried with EDGE, CHROME and FIREFOX (Windows 10). I tried PRIVATE mode on THREE browsers. I enter my email and password. I choose sign in. I get the login screen again empty. The app does nothing. Thoughts?Solved23KViews2likes9CommentsI can't change my Dropbox email address to a new one, because it's taken, even though it's not.
I want to change my account to a new email, and it says "This email address is already taken". Then I logged out my account, tried to sign in using the new email, and it asks me sign up an account. It seems the new email is not taken, can you help me to investigate the problem? Shall I put my email here? I am currently trying to link my Dropbox account to my Google Account. In order for this to work, my Dropbox Account needs to be configured with my GMail address, otherwise the accounts won't be linked. However, whenever I try to update my email address and click the link that arrives in my GMail mailbox, I'll see the same error 500 screen: Does anyone have an idea what I could be doing wrong? I noticed that Google is altering the link when I click it. Instead of opening https://www.dropbox.com/l/[...] the tab will be opened as https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.dropbox.com/l/[...] Thanks in advance for any help!171Views0likes8Comments"Send Feedback" is broken
When I click "Send Feedback" in the Dropbox menubar icon, in order to file a bug report, the app makes my web browser open: Group: Dropbox for macOS | The Dropbox Community which redirects immediately to: Group: Dropbox for macOS | The Dropbox Community which then gives me this error: Dropbox v189.3.8308 macOS 13.6.2 (Ventura, ARM)Solved1.5KViews0likes7Comments"Email already taken" error, but I know I don't have a Dropbox account linked to said email.
Hello, I am having this problem and in my particular situation "what many people are posting is not true" or at the very minimum does not reflect what I am experiencing. Despite the error message, "This email already taken". I do NoT have a dropbox account associated with my target new primary email address. I have verified this to be true in two ways: The first way is that I go to https://www.dropbox.com/forgot When I submit my desired new primary email address, I receive a message that "password reset instructions will be sent, if there is a dropbox account associated with this email". But I do NoT receive an email. And I verified that an email is not going to trash or spam. The 2nd way I've verified that the message "email already taken" is not actually true is the following: I created a completely new dropbox free account with my desired new primary email address. If there was already a dropbox account associated with this "taken email" why would I be able to set up a new account? If dropbox will not let me assign the email as a primary email address - it should not let me create an entirely new account with the same primary email address. Then I change the primary email on this new account to a dummy temp email. I actually receive an email verification from dropbox that my desired primary email has been removed from dropbox in my desired primary email address - this tells me a) the primary email is no longer connected to the dropbox account and that I can receive emails to my desired primary email address from dropbox. I sign off of the dummy/temp dropbox account and sign back into my paid dropbox account I go to change the primary email to the desired primary email (the same one that I used to establish the new dropbox account and then change the primary email address. I receive the same error message "This email already taken". I've tried this numerous times. and have an open support ticket with customer support I've read several threads on the forum (all marked as resolved) but all holding to the position that this error message "email already taken" means that there is already a dropbox account associated with the email - I just do not see how that can be the situation in my case. It seems to me there is some sort of security programming glitch - that some processes (e.g. new account setup, password forgot dialogue) definitely do NOT recognize my new primary email address as one associated with a dropbox account. Only the (change primary email address) dialogue seems to think that my primary email address is associated with a drop box account. Please do advise as I am no longer using my dropbox account - I am a longtime customer and have a paid subscription so would like to be able to change my email address to the email address that I prefer - and one that is definitely NOT associated with a dropbox account despite my best efforts at removing it.Solved683Views0likes7CommentsI can't change my email address; I keep seeing there have been "too many attempts, try later".
