Dropbox desktop app will not stay installed on laptop on Windows 11
Dropbox app is not available after restart despite numerous re-installs, advanced reinstall, disabling firewall. App is only functional when opening and signing into dropbox website, select INSTALL DESKTOP APP and install app. OPEN DROPBOX UPON STARTUP is selected. I have also tried toggling the switch off and restarting, toggling on and restarting and repeat install process. Every time the computer is restarted, the app disappears. How to use my existing Dropbox folder without re-downloading the files after reinstalling Windows?
Hello I have two separate (physically separate) M2 drives, and one is (D drive) only for storing Dropbox folder. Whenever I reinstall Windows for whatever reaso,n I want to be able to use the existing folder and content without downloading it. I don't use Online Only, I use Dropbox as a RAID 1 backup (mirror). Recently, it doesn't even let me choose the existing Dropbox folder on my D drive during the first installation of the client; it says "Dropbox folder already exists, choose a different one." I don't want to download 125GB of data every time I reinstall Windows. Isn't there an easy/logical way to do it? I do not and will not use the online-only option. Thanks in advance.

Application Affected Dropbox / Windows 11 Device ASUS Vivobook Question or Issue The main issue is that Dropbox/Windows made a serious change and did not inform us. I keep ALL my files on my desktop at all times EXCEPT one "Online" folder. I was managing this fine with per folder sync behavior. The update changed that WITHOUT asking me. So I saw new icons in Windows and realized that a lot of files were missing (only in the could). A random mix. Chaos. I set the preferences back to Offline. Then proceded to the folders but hell broke loose. All folder went into a sync mode and thousands of files were being processed. Tried a reinstall in the hope to re-index. Tried many Clean re-install w fresh installer including 237.4.5655 Offline. Cleared AppData, etc. But I never can choose my existing 300Gig C:\Dropbox folder. I never get to the advanced option. I really need help !

Dropbox online and offline installer – Device Dell Inspiron 16 5645 Dropbox was working fine until something was corrupted in my windows profile which meant I had to reinstall my windows profile / user account. from scratch. No AV nor defender blocking as tried switching off and having another go. I’ve downloaded the basic installer, the offline installer, older versions etc., and still the installer fails. I’ve unlinked all devices from the web version of dropbox. The an advanced reinstall (tried deleting all dropbox related folders) and whilst there are some residual registry keys that doesn't work. All other programs have reinstalled successfully. Resorting to chatgpt for support hasn't worked (wasn't even going to attempt some of the suggestions for fear of further issues). Grateful for any support! Thanks in advance.
