Hi - I'm hoping someone can help me. We've been using dropbox for a while and it's been going swimmingly, but in the recent few months there has been a change. When I open an excel document it used to open in 'Excel for the web' and was easily editable, but recently it's stopped loading properly. I'm trying to open it using Safari browser (my friend who is using Microsoft software isn't having the same issue), and now instead of the file loading it looks like this, but never loads: Can anyone help? I've restarted my computer and installed any updates. Many thanks.1.5KViews0likes22CommentsI can't always open my MS Word files via the desktop app and I receive an error.
I used to double-click on any Word Docx when stored in DropBox and it would open, but lately, it won't open and an error message pops up... it is not consistent. Sometimes it opens and sometimes it does not. The error message says it is a MS Word problem, but when I spoke to MS, they said it is a DropBox problem since I have no problem working on Word files if they are out of DropBox. As a workaround - I can drag a file outside of DropBox and then it would open.82Views0likes1CommentWhen opening a Word doc on the web, its original font appears in bold.
My office shares and edits unlinked docs and I'm then responsible for accepting the edits and uploading the final doc to Dropbox. Recently, I've been unable to upload the doc with it keeping its formatting and fonts. It will be formatted correctly on my OS desktop but when I save it and upload it, the fonts in the preview are bold. When I then go to open it in word for the web, I get this error: If I choose to open it in reader view, it reverts back to the correct formatting. I have checked and the font is in my font book and have no clue what could be causing this. formatting on my desktop app Formatting after uploading and opening in preview Formatting after opening as read only in word for web Thanks in advance for any guidance.184Views0likes5CommentsHow to prevent users from downloading my Excel sheet?
I would like to share a form, an Excel Sheet, with other users. But due to simple security topics an to safe "my work" (data and calculations) from black-copy I don´t want them to doanload it on their workspace, but to use it directly within dropbox for PC. So other users should be allowed to "write", but not to doaonload - Any Idea, if this is possible an how I can manage this in dropbox?116Views0likes2Comments''Sorry, something went wrong" error when trying to open Excel file in Dropbox on Android tablet

I shared a .docx file with my collaborators for commenting via Dropbox, and I think they commented using the Dropbox comment function. I am aware of the issue that Dropbox comments on a Word file are only visible on the website and not when the file is opened via the desktop app. However, my issue is that now the docx file does not open in the Dropbox website viewer, and I can only see the comments, but not which line they are referring to. The page just says '.docx files are supported but something went wrong'. When I download the file or open it in Word for the web, I cannot see any of the comments. Is there any solution to this?1.3KViews0likes17Comments
