I have received an email for the third time saying I have been banned from sharing for exceeding bandwidth limit. I had no idea such a restriction existed. I have a basic Dropbox account, but have built up a capacity of 13.2Gb owing to hardward deals I have bought in the past that has increased my allowance. I have used 8.31Gb of space, so loads of headroom. I only usually share a couple of folders with friends and this has worked continually quite happily for years. These folders are about 1.6Gb. For some reason I am now getting this ban for sharing. I have gone into Dropbox online and removed every old sharing link I can find; it has no effect. I cannot unban the account on the link, just get a message saying 'something's gone wrong. Contact support', which I can't do on the basic plan. Advice please on how to remove the ban and share within the allowance. Thanks!83Views0likes5CommentsPublic links have been temporarily suspended for generating excessive traffic.
I got an email saying This email is an automated notification from Dropbox letting you know that your Public links have been temporarily suspended for generating excessive traffic. Upgrade your Dropbox account today to increase the total amount of traffic your link and file requests can generate. For more information on suspended links, please visit the Help Center. Your current account bandwidth limit is 20.00 GB and your current usage is 21.19 GB. You may remove the suspension by clicking this link otherwise please visit the Help Center. I looked in my shared folder and I don't really have much in there. so I clicked on the link to remove the suspension and then three minutes later I got another email Your current account bandwidth limit is 26.00 GB and your current usage is 33.13 GB. how do I What links these are? I have a few shared folders but I'm not the owner of those folders my current usage is very small so I don't know where this bandwidth usage is measured or shown106Views0likes6CommentsYour sharing activity has been temporarily suspended.
Dropbox Plan Basic Do you have access to the email linked to the account? Yes Hi everyone, I sent a DEM (direct email marketing) campaign via Pipedrive to about 400 contacts. In the email, there was a CTA linking to a Dropbox folder (shared via a public link). At first, the link worked correctly â but after a few hours, recipients started reporting that the link was no longer accessible. Iâm using a Dropbox Basic account, so I canât open a support ticket directly. The shared content was legitimate marketing material (a brochure and some media files), and the traffic came from the campaign â no suspicious activity or abuse. Could someone from the Dropbox team please check or help me reactivate the sharing feature on my account? I would also appreciate advice on how to manage traffic from campaigns safely in the future to avoid new suspensions. Thanks in advance for your help!68Views0likes3CommentsUsing Dropbox for shared files without saving to personal account
Device (Dell XPS 15, iPhone 13, etc.) Operating System/Browser (if using the web) (Windows 11, macOS14.3, etc.) Dropbox App Version (if using the app) (200.4.7123 - found in app settings or About section) Syncing Status ("Up to date", "Syncing Paused", "Syncing 3 files" etc.) Question or Issue I edit a magazine for a local organisation which uses Dropbox to store the files. However, whenever I work on a file it automatically takes up space in my personal account, which is now almost full. Can I delete the files I donât need from my personal account without those deletions syncing to the organisationâs main account? Or is there another way apart from upgrading and incurring costs which I cannot claim back? I mainly use my iPad for this work, thus I use the app.70Views0likes4CommentsSharing files and demands for subscription
I have a paid subscription, and store documents which I share with a group of other individuals and also groups of family members. I have shared relevant folders with them. They are now getting demands to pay for a dropbox account (presumably as the total storage they can view goes above the 'free' allocation). How can I share folders with them without them having to pay for viewing 'my' files? I don't want to have to share links at the individual document level. Otherwise it makes dropbox useless for me to use collaboratively. One (family) user I have shared with has messages saying his dropbox files will be deleted unless he pays for a full subscription. He already does pay for a subscription, which somehow seems to be separate. I am concerned that my files will be deleted. Any help would be appreciated. Hello Support team, I recently tried to share a file from my dropbox account and was unable with the following error message: Canât share file Weâve suspended your sharing activity because of a violation of Dropboxâs Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, and Terms of Service or Services Agreement. I removed all previously shared files just in case there was anything that was accidentally shared that was against TOS and I apologize. Could you please help me? TYSMSolved99Views0likes4Comments
