Can I create an activity report for shared files?

Issues when I'm updating a zip file's contents using the desktop app. "System can't find path"
Ok - I have used dropbox for many years to store files that i share content with friends. I just had a request saying that some of the info in one of the zip files I have shared needs updating. I have done this before - but not for a few years - no problem just opened the zip file, edited the contents, then upon closing answering yes to do you want to update the zip file contents. But today, it just says "The system cannot find the path specified" I am using the Desktop App and it does say that it is synced and up to date. This is causing me a huge problem and significant time and effort for all my files, if I cannot simply edit a zip file on the fly. I have read that using the PC App avoids the download, edit, upload route - which is not an option, as hundreds of people have the link to this specific file address. So upset and tired - dropbox used to easily have this function - especially with the PC App and the files being visiable in a window when I use it. So I just now realized that sharing one file with a person gives them access to all my files and folders including deleted files? I uploaded a file and set it's access to 'only me'. Lets say I want to share that one file with someone by clicking the 'copy link button' and sending it to them. All they have to do is click the little 'info' (...) buttons next to the file and it shows the whole hierarchy of folders in my dropbox. Why is this a feature? Is there a way to lock access to folders and keep people from rummaging around at will?Solved4.8KViews0likes6Comments
What are "not added" shared files and folders?
Under Internet > Dropbox > Left menu > Shared, some of the files or folders are listed with the notation "not added". These have all been missing from my local Dropbox folder for a couple of years. Can I turn off notifications that others receive when I edit a file?
Everytime I edit a document, others who share the document get notified of changes made to the file. This happens every 30 seconds as I'm constantly making changes. How do turn this off so others' dropbox is not flooded with notifications regarding changes I'm making?2.4KViews1like3Comments
