I am a professor at University of Florida (I need to use my personal email here, it never worked with UF email). All my graduate students and I all use Dropbox. Each student has a project folder shared with me, so that when they graduate I have access to the files for future use. Now, if a new student comes, and I pass the previous student computer to him/her, the project folder is still in the computer. How can we safely remove that shared folder from the hard drive and keep them on the web (and my computer)? The old student UF account is disabled so the files cannot be made online only by the old student (and he left anyways). I can access the folder on that pc with my UF account. I can delete the folders manually, which should be safe since in my UF account my dropbox folder is synced, not theirs. But would would happen if the old student decides to come back to work for me as a post doc (or it was a master student who wanna work as a Phd student) some time in the future, their UF account is reactivated, and the PC is given back to them? would the project folder be lost? Dropbox Plan Plus Are you a Team Member or Admin? No. I own the account. There is no Admin, and there are no Team Members Do you have access to the email linked to the account? Yes Are there any devices connected to your Dropbox account? Not that I'm aware of. Question or Issue I created a new folder. It is not within another folder - when I click All Files, it shows at that level. Then I tried to Share it and I got the message below. I've never encountered this problem before when creating folders. What have I done wrong, and how can I create a new folder that I can share?53Views0likes4CommentsPublic links have been temporarily suspended for generating excessive traffic.

Hi Dropbox team, Iâm having an issue with a shared folder called âWormsâ. Iâm not a member of this folder, but it keeps showing under my âSharedâ tab and is taking up 1 GB of space. Whenever I try to open or remove it, I get the message âNot enough spaceâ, and I canât accept or decline the invitation. Iâve tried the /share/invites page and all standard fixes, but nothing works. For details or to contact support" error.
Hi Iâm having some issues with Dropbox sharing. When I was trying to share a folder , I received this message: "Weâve interrupted your sharing activity. For details or to contact support, read our help center article." The folder is just a regular project folder Iâve shared before, and Iâve already tried refreshing, renaming it, and even creating a new one, but I still get the same error. In addition, Iâm also unable to join another shared folder that was sent to me. When I try, I get an error message saying Dropbox couldnât complete my request. Both issues started happening around the same time. Please help someone. Device Lenovo Thinkpad P15v, Google Pixel 9 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 235.4.5905 Dropbox Plan Plus Question or Issue Hi folks, I'm collaborating on a project with a colleague and we're constantly uploading different files to several folders within a shared dropbox. The problem is I'm not seeing when they've added things to dropbox via the sharing activity notification panel that I usually use. For example, In the last 7 days it only says that they have edited a file of mine 2 hours ago, however I can see in our dropbox that they've added several new folders and files. This means I'm having to manually check all our folders for updated or new files which isn't ideal at all. Any ideas? I've tried quitting Dropbox and restarting already and can confirm all notification settings are set to 'on'. Thanks so much in advance!135Views0likes10CommentsHow can I select a folder on a hard-drive to sync to Dropbox, then share with others?
Device M2 Macbook Pro Operating System/Browser (if using the web) macOS 15.6.1 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 235.4.5905 Question or Issue I've got a folder of files that I store on an external hard drive that I'd like to have constantly syncing to dropbox so that I can easily share them while on the go etc with people. I can see that the backup option exists and will let me back these files up, but it says it won't then let me then share those files. This is a folder I'm constantly generating new files into, so a one off upload won't work, and I need to be able to generate a sharing link for these files. Is this possible with Dropbox currently?Solved87Views0likes2Comments
