Shared Folders
547 TopicsPeople asked to create account when viewing my files
If I send a link to one of my folders and the person via the link is taken to the opening page, they find they are confronted with a banner asking them to creat an account. One can clic outside of the banner and it disappears and they have access to the files. But a few people found the banner intimidating and figured they had to create an account and abandoned their attempt to view the files. Is there a way to turn this marketing off?Solved130Views1like9CommentsI shared a folder with someone but they cannot access the contents
Device HP laptop Operating System/Browser (if using the web) (Windows 11) I just posted this but it's not showing up. I shared a parent folder with my VA for photos with 7 child folders inside it. She couldn't access that folder. So I shared one child folder with her and she can open that one, but doesn't see all the photos that I put into it. Both the parent folder and child folder show that they are "shared'. What's am I doing wrong? I can put screenshots if it would help. Thank you!Solved85Views0likes10CommentsIs it possible to share files or directories in Ukraine?
Russia has shut off virtually all social networking applications in Ukraine. If I share a directory with my fiance through Dropbox will she be able to see it? When she gets an email will there be a link inside it to the Dropbox entry? Has anyone sent files or folders to someone in Ukraine?38Views0likes6CommentsI keep getting a warning that my content may contain phishing.
Hello. Every time I attempt to add new people to a shared folder, it won’t let me and tells me the files might contain phishing content, and the link to view the files isn’t working either. I need this fixed ASAP. Thank you.31Views0likes1CommentHow to safely remove shared folder from hard drive, owned by a student who graduated and left?
I am a professor at University of Florida (I need to use my personal email here, it never worked with UF email). All my graduate students and I all use Dropbox. Each student has a project folder shared with me, so that when they graduate I have access to the files for future use. Now, if a new student comes, and I pass the previous student computer to him/her, the project folder is still in the computer. How can we safely remove that shared folder from the hard drive and keep them on the web (and my computer)? The old student UF account is disabled so the files cannot be made online only by the old student (and he left anyways). I can access the folder on that pc with my UF account. I can delete the folders manually, which should be safe since in my UF account my dropbox folder is synced, not theirs. But would would happen if the old student decides to come back to work for me as a post doc (or it was a master student who wanna work as a Phd student) some time in the future, their UF account is reactivated, and the PC is given back to them? would the project folder be lost? Dropbox Plan Plus Are you a Team Member or Admin? No. I own the account. There is no Admin, and there are no Team Members Do you have access to the email linked to the account? Yes Are there any devices connected to your Dropbox account? Not that I'm aware of. Question or Issue I created a new folder. It is not within another folder - when I click All Files, it shows at that level. Then I tried to Share it and I got the message below. I've never encountered this problem before when creating folders. What have I done wrong, and how can I create a new folder that I can share?65Views0likes4CommentsPublic links have been temporarily suspended for generating excessive traffic.

Hi Dropbox team, I’m having an issue with a shared folder called “Worms”. I’m not a member of this folder, but it keeps showing under my “Shared” tab and is taking up 1 GB of space. Whenever I try to open or remove it, I get the message “Not enough space”, and I can’t accept or decline the invitation. I’ve tried the /share/invites page and all standard fixes, but nothing works. Could you please manually remove this folder/invitation from my account? Basic pack Thank you in advance!Solved136Views0likes14Comments
