I have a new laptop on Win11 and I added the Dropbox plug-in for Outlook. But it remains greyed out and the folder that should appear on the left folder navigation is missing. I installed the local app and that seems to be working fine. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, fully updated windows, the laptop, and the applications. Nothing seems to work.. I had wondered if it was due to my drop box being personal or if there was another issue. It was working correctly on my old system. Hey, I've been using Dropbox Capture to feedback on a project. I love the idea of quickly sharing a video like that. There is one problem though - I cannot reliably record a screen capture with voice - the video will randomly skip and buffer, corrupting the recorded video - in effect I'm loosing time, because I have to re-record. It's very frustrating. I'm on Windows and the most recent version of Capture v116.3.0 Tried reinstalling, clearing cache, tried disabling audio enhancements in Windows audio settings as well. I would love to use this feature daily, but at this point it's pointless - is there any fix to the issue?46Views0likes7CommentsDropbox vs Terabox: Which Cloud Storage Solution Offers Better Technical Features?

I've used dropbox for quite a while on my hp envy laptop, windows10, office365. Suddenly, every time I try to open an office document (word, excel, pp - all), I get the following msg: "Excel/Word... is running into problems with the "dropbox for office" add-in. If this keeps happening, disable this add-in and check for available updates. Do you want to disable it now?" When I clicked YES (disable), it didn't solve the problem. I couldn't open any document without making a copy (and it didn't let me save the original). This is my all my work here, so this is urgent - anyone can help??Solved256Views0likes4CommentsCan I use OneDrive MS Office Collaboration within the Dropbox folder?
I am a huge fan of Dropbox and trust them with my files. I am currently using Dropbox as a real-time backup for my file server and users access these documents over the network. Some of us users collaborate at the same time on Excel documents using the antiquated Shared Workbook feature. This collaborative process needs to be replaced with MS Co-Author feature that's built into OneDrive. I don't trust OneDrive with my files as it is not truly backing up my files in real-time. I believe OneDrive caches file changes in a Temp folder and then uploads whenever it wants to, sometimes never. I have had a number of documents that were manually saved 50 plus times even with the auto-save feature enable, closed out of these files. A day later I ran a Temp file cleanup using a utility. Then later on that day or next day opened my documents and they had reverted to their original state. There was no file change history either that I could revert back to. On a standalone computer, can I install Dropbox, then install OneDrive inside of that folder. Then I can share documents from/to the OneDrive account on the Standalone computer to other users and my separate work computer's OneDrive account? This way I can get the Co-Author feature my team needs, while having Dropbox save true backups of my teams files as they make changes?84Views0likes1CommentThe Dropbox Badge does not appear on MS Word files on certain computers with Windows 10 Pro.
In my company, on most computers running Windows 10 Pro with Dropbox version 212.4.5767 and various Office packages, the blue badge does not appear when opening Word files. I havenât been able to determine if the issue is caused by Windows, Office, or Dropbox. However, it affects most computers. Please help me find a solution to resolve this issue, as my colleagues actively use this feature. Thank you.168Views0likes22CommentsInDesign will freeze if we try to open files that are online-only
Please note that we have a Dropbox shared among multiple employees. Since yesterday, we've encountered the following issue: Whenever we try to open any files, such as InDesign or Photoshop files, through Dropbox that have a cloud status, the application freezes. To work around this, we need to right-click on the file in Dropbox, select "Save Offline," and then open it in InDesign through Dropbox. This problem did not occur before. If we don't save the file offline first in Dropbox, InDesign will freeze until we quit Dropbox, reopen it, save the file offline, and then open it again through Dropbox to work on it. For example, if we click on one of these items that has a transparent X to open files from Dropbox in InDesign, InDesign will freeze first like in img1: img1 second dropbox freeze also, for example if you right click on any dropbox file , no option to save the file offline or online .... like img2 : img2 the only solution is first to quit the dropbox then open it again when dropbox became like img3 : img3 then make the file you want to open through InDesign, Photoshop, or any other app available offline first. Then, you should be able to open it without any problems. Another problem we're encountering is with opening files from Dropbox in InDesign. The first time we open a file, it displays correctly with icons like in img3. However, the second time we open a file, it appears like img1, with the dark green icon missing and the cloud icon becoming a transparent X. To restore the correct display (like img3), we have to quit Dropbox and reopen it. Please address this issue as it affects multiple desktops and laptops used by six different users from various companies. Some of these users are on Windows 10, while others are on Windows 11. The problem started appearing yesterday.Solved7.1KViews3likes34CommentsError when trying to back up Dropbox to Goodsync after Windows 11 update
