25 TopicsNo longer able to export a file on the iOS app
Device iPad, iPhone 13 Operating System/Browser (if using the web) ios 26.3.1 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 460.2.2 Question or Issue For over a decade, I’ve been able to export a single file via email by just pulling up the file and hitting export. In the past year, I’ve had to change to using the check mark by the file to be able to export that single file. A more involved approach, but still doable. But as of today, the only way I can export a file is by sending a link to the folder. I don’t expect customers to follow a link to get the contract I’ve always sent to them directly. Plus, I’d have to make a folder for each contract so they didn’t see all the rest of my contracts. How do I fix this? Do I have to skip Dropbox and just send contracts directly from the signing app? How is this an improvement?Solved122Views0likes5CommentsChanged password on Excel file, now I get Decryption Failed error on latest iOS
Hi everyone. This is with the latest version of iOS. I have an existing Excel File that is encrypted with a password. It works fine with Dropbox. I change the password and save it, and now I get the error Decryption Failed when I open it on the iPhone with the password. The worksheet works fine on PC. I've even tried changing the password back to the old one and it still doesn't work. Is there some encryption setting in Excel that may be affecting this? I am using Office Professional 2019. Thank you.179Views0likes9CommentsImprovements for the iOS mp3 player in Dropbox.
Hi there, subscription prices are not that low to be honest so would it be too much to want Dropbox to make the iOs app more "useful" (talking from iPad persepctive)? like MP3s can be played right now, but not in the background, and it would be nice for simple player functions like "play only 1 time", "loop", "shuffle" etc. Any update here?152Views1like7CommentsI can’t save a video from my mobile Dropbox app to my iPhone gallery. Getting a couldn't save error.
I used my computer to upload a mp4 file that I recorded, after uploading it to drop box, I wanted to save it to my IPhone X gallery. I can’t really save it, all I see is “Couldn’t save. Sorry, this type of video cannot be saved to this device” I’m really confused, I tried multiple times but it does not work. Oh and I can watch the video normally on the drop box app. I just can’t save it for some reason. What should I do?Solved9.3KViews0likes6CommentsI'm trying to download .mp4 files to iPhone but get an error "Couldn't save to this device".

Device (iPhone 14 Pro Max) Operating System/Browser (if using the web) (18.6.2) Dropbox App Version (if using the app) (450.2.2) Question or Issue We use Dropbox for our choir to store backing tracks and music scores. When we open an audio file, it plays automatically. Is there a way to stop the auto play. We need to use this on our phone for when we sing outdoors or in aged care facilities as we don't have room for a computer. I have tried turning the loop function off, but it is off on all files already. I don't want to have to use a desktop version. I just want the ability to use the app but to be able to turn off auto play in the settings. I can see that someone else had this issue 7 years ago and it looks like it has still not been fixed. Can I please vote for an auto play off button, as an update?163Views0likes1CommentHow can I loop certain video files but not loop others on iOS?
Device iPhone Operating System/Browser (if using the web) iOS 18.7.1 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 446.2.2 Dropbox Plan Plus Question or Issue Hello. I like to loop certain video files but not loop others and have the settings save to that specific file. Is this not possible? I can play a file on loop, but if I change another file to NOT loop, then it changes the file I had set to loop, off. I'm not sure if there's a problem or if this is a limitation of the software?166Views0likes2CommentsCan I view symlinks on the mobile iOS app?
Hi. I've had to move all my files to my local/internal hard drive and use symlinks within dropbox to keep them backed up but now i cant access any of them remotely. The reason for moving them is because it was causing me all sorts of issues when running the files directly from within dropbox / file provider. Does anyone know a way of symlinks being possible to view within the iOS app or website? Thanks192Views0likes3CommentsUnable to open an Excel file from Dropbox using the Microsoft Excel app on iPhone
I’ve been trying many times to open the excel sheet on my Dropbox app but to no avail. I even uninstall the Microsoft excel app as per other forums’ suggestions but the same problem persists. It says “Somthing went wrong and excel sheet can’t open.” I have attached the screenshot for your reference. I only have 1 email attached to 1 Dropbox account. Can someone help me out?Solved276Views0likes8Comments
