Question or Issue We are experiencing a problem where a user is unable to access a Dropbox file through Adobe InDesign. The project folder contains two directories — one with the content files and another with the InCopy file. Dropbox shows that all data is fully synced. However, when the user attempts to open the content folder file directly from Dropbox in Adobe InDesign, the image frame loads but the linked text content does not, and an error message appears This issue does not occur when the files are downloaded locally. in that case, everything opens correctly. We have already verified that the files are synced and that the user has the necessary permissions. Could you please confirm whether this is a Dropbox-related issue and advise on how to resolve it?46Views0likes3CommentsHow can I save a Dropbox backup folder to Google Drive?
Question or Issue I've been receiving OVER THE LIMIT emails for years now re: my dormant FREE DB ACCOUNT so I just went and transferred all of my DROPBOX files to my Google Drive. But I supposedly still have 340GB in a video file (folder, actually) sitting in my DROPBOX BACKUP folder. But no matter what I do it refuses to drag & drop into my Google Drive like I just did with all of my regular files and folders. How do I transfer that backup folder to my Google Drive or can I NOT transfer backup files and must just delete? Thanks in advance for the solution! Hello all, I use Dropbox to back up artwork created with the iPadOS application Procreate. They use a proprietary format called .procreate, and I prefer to save in this format for maximum compatibility with the app if I decide to work on a particular piece again in the future. However, when browsing these files in the Dropbox app, no thumbnails are displayed, which makes it hard to differentiate between files (since I’ve neglected to give them descriptive file names, lol). I think this integration would be useful to many people who use Dropbox on iPadOS, because Procreate is a very popular app and digital art fills up storage really fast! I also think that this integration would be doable, if not trivial, for the following reasons: The native Files app can display thumbnails for .procreate files. People have made plugins to display .procreate thumbnails on MacOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems. The .procreate file format seems to just be a zip archive, so displaying a thumbnail would just be a matter of extracting the image from the archive. A Procreate developer on the Procreate forums stated that this integration would need to be done on Dropbox’s end. In conclusion, my workflow would be greatly enhanced by adding thumbnail support for Procreate files. :)118Views0likes1CommentI would like to change the default app for opening PDF files via the Dropbox mobile app.
As a longtime Dropbox user, I am annoyed that the only PDF program that's given as an option to view PDFs is Adobe. I don't use or like Adobe PDF products. I use PDF Expert and would like to be able to make PDF Expert my default program for viewing PDFs. Please respond to let me know if this can be done.773Views0likes17CommentsApps in my iPhone say my Dropbox is empty when I try to attach files
Hello! Whenever I try to attach a file saved in Dropbox from an app (for instance, WhatsApp message, or Mail app) in my iPhone (iOS 18.1), the app says my Dropbox is empty, although it is fully synced in my phone. Interestingly, from the Messages app I'm able to attach a file and if I open the Dropbox app and select to export a file to WhatsApp or Mail, it works. I've tried disabling and enabling Dropbox from the Browse option, clearing history and website data and restarting the phone, and nothing worked. Any suggestions? Thank you!Solved559Views0likes17CommentsBroken links in InDesign files on macOS Monterey 12.3.1
Hi there, I've been happily working with Indesign files in Dropbox for a year now where my files are all stored Online Only. It used to be the case that Dropbox would automatically relink all the supporting files that are stored on Dropbox.com and I would be able to edit the InDesign file. Recently, upon opening an InDesign file all the links to picture files etc are broken. Added to that, when I try to relink the files through InDesign I get a message that reads: Import Failed! (see attachment). My Dropbox App says that the files I am trying to relink are all Zero Bytes. When I access my account at Dropbox.com the files are all good. The only way I seems that I can relink my files is if I download them to my iMac. I'm currently using Mac OS Monterey 12.3.1. Any ideas?Solved19KViews6likes71CommentsCan't open encrypted files via Boxcryptor
W11: not possible anymore to open encrypted files via good (old) boxcryptor. no matter which filetype and when it was last changed. Was possible without any problems before the update for the last 8+years Installing non beta 185 doesn't solve this. Moving the encrypted folder out of dropbox everything is fine again. Maybe related to problem in mac, since there is no preview of files either https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-desktop-client-builds/Beta-Build-186-3-6103/td-p/7222822.2KViews0likes13CommentsOpen .pages files in Dropbox on iPad
Hi there I‘m moving away from Office 365 to Apple apps. When on my iPad, when I click on a Word file, I get the „open in“ button to open in Microsoft Word. When I click on a .pages file, I only get an „open“ button which, when clicked, opens the file in Dropbox with no editing options. What am I doing wrong? Thanks RomanSolved278Views0likes4Comments
