Blank Login Screen When Using Safari

When using Safari on a Mac, I am unable to log in to Dropbox because the login screen is blank. I have updated Safari, cleared cache, cleared history, cleared cache again, but nothing will get the login screen to show. I took a look at the web inspector and I see this error:

SyntaxError: Unterminated regular expression literal......

Any ideas?

  • Thanks Nancy - Saturday AM (09/30) Dropbox started working properly with Safari.

Hi there iamchrishall, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Do you happen to be running any particular plugins or extensions that could be causing this?

Have you tried a private browsing window or another browser?

If you did and the issue persists, please send us a screenshot so that we can have a visual too.

    Thanks!

I currently have no extensions installed. I just tested using a private window and I'm still getting the same blank screen when clicking the login button. I am able to log in on other browsers (Chrome and Firefox) as a workaround but would obviously prefer to keep all my work in one place.

I have attached a screenshot of the blank screen I receive when trying to log in.

    Thank you for your help.

    Chris

I am having this same problem as of last Friday, the 22nd. Pretty frustrating.

Could you both clarify the version of Safari you're using and if you've cleared the browser's cache since you first noticed this?

Thanks a bunch iamchrishall & JASerz

Hello - thanks for the reply!
Definitely cleared cache and all-time history.
    Version 16.6 (18615.3.12.11.2) - MacBook 1
    Version 17.0 (18616.1.27.111.22, 18616) - MacBook 2

I have cleared all cache several times. I actually did see the issue starting last week as well. When the issue first came up I was using Safari Version 16.6 (18615.3.12.11.2) and then the other day I updated to Version 17.0 (18616.1.27.111.22, 18616) hoping it would fix the problem but it did not.

I also just noticed that I now have the same problem when trying to log in to the browser version of Dropbox using Safari on iPhone.

I'm now able to login on Safari, I'm assuming this has been fixed?
