"Display Limit Reached" message when trying to view my photos
Hi---
I keep all my photos on Dropbox. It's usually great-- I open the app and scroll back and go back literally years and years and years. If I want to see a photo from November 2014, I could ...

From the so-called āresponsesā from Dropbox, they donāt really seem to care about this issue. They keep asking for screenshots, but Iām sure they know exactly why we are all having this serious problem! I always told people how great Dropbox was and I was always extremely happy with the service, that is until this whole ādisplay limit reachedā rendered most of my photos unviewable. Even when I try to look at a photo that is within the so called acceptable date range, it will just spin and attempt to load, and then crash. Sooo frustrating! I need to find a new service that actually works. And that has people actively working on correcting known issues such as this, rather than give mindless replies!

Iām in the process of trying to transfer all of my photos from Dropbox to google photos. With them you can search for images by several different ways and filters. That has been extremely helpful to me. I refuse to pay almost $14 a month for something that isnāt even working.
Good luck!!!
Good luck!!!
- Sandy12313 years agoHelpful | Level 6I agree! What a nightmare Dropbox has become. Also, if I get one more email that Iāve earned a stupid Dropbox badge. Iām going to lose it lol. I donāt need badges to make me feel good. Lol.
- aa5923 years agoHelpful | Level 6Ooh good to know. Maybe Google is the way to go. Do you know how to do a massive (I mean like 200k photos) file transfer from Dropbox to Google??
- katehannigan3 years agoHelpful | Level 7Dropbox, this is such a joke and so unbelievably frustrating. I donāt want to have to change platforms. Just put it back to how it was!! What is the problem???!! š
- katehannigan3 years agoHelpful | Level 7Even though I donāt want to have to change, I had a look around online and found a platform called pCloud which seems similar to Dropbox (but hopefully better). Does anyone have any experience with pCloud?

Hey guys, I hope you're doing well!
Keep in mind that due to performance reasons, we have a limit in place on mobile to only load 100,000 photos and then any new photos after that.
For the web this shouldn't be the case and you should be able to see all your photos. Your photos are definitely still there, we just might not load them onto the photos tab.
I hope this clarifies.
- aa5923 years agoHelpful | Level 6Since when? This didnāt used to be an issue.
And I still canāt load them in my files tab either.
Please fix this.
Come on.
