Dropbox Paper images aren't loaded on the web
Device Thinkpad X1 Carbon 2016
Operating System/Browser (if using the web)
Windows 10
Dropbox App Version/Browser Version
Chrome: Version 140.0.7339.185 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit)
Edge: Version 140.0.3485.94 (Offizielles Build) (64-Bit)
Description
Many images (~30%) in my dropbox paper document are not loading anymore. It concernc various dropbox paper files. Even if I click on the link, they do not open anymore. I am sure all of these pictures were uploaded correctly! They are usually screenshots that I have copy + paced into the document. This is very frustrating and a very big issue. I would have thought dropbox paper is more reliable!

Hi Walter,
I'm also facing the same issue -- some images across all my files shows "Couldn't preview" and even if I download the file they are not there. I've tried to use different browsers to open my file but nothing changed. Meanwhile, whenever I upload a new image, it shows ""Couldn't preview" as well. I have several over 10,000 words documents with images facing this issue, and I really need your help. Here is my screenshots:

Hi,
All my lesson notes and handouts of the past 5 years are suddenly missing images. Today when trying to update lesson handouts with new screenshots also immediately resulted in the "Couldn't load preview".
Same if working on the document in Edge or Chrome.
Hope you are working on this. - Phoebeeee2 months agoNew member | Level 2
Hi Walter, I encountered the same issue, many previously existing images on my dropbox file "Couldn't load preview". In addition, I cannot upload new images, it immediately shows "Couldn't load preview" after I upload any photo. This issue exists across all of my dropbox files and many of them are very important for me. I've tried using another browser to open dropbox but nothing changed. Could you please help me.....

Dear Walter. I cleared the browser cache and used a different browser (edge) + inkognito and nothing helped. It is a really big deal. It is like hundreds of word files you composed are missing suddently 30% of its content. This really makes me question if it is a good idea to compose important documents in dropbox paper - it is a real issue for concern!
I also opened a tickets: #25626833
I hope this is fixed soon. It is a real mess!

Note that the error affects all Dropbox Paper users worldwide, regardless of their location or the client they are using.
I am a software engineer, and you can verify this by checking that the DNS A record for the attachments.dropboxusercontent.com domain (the domain used by Dropbox Paper for image uploads) no longer exists.
The solution is to inform the team about this issue and restore the domain.

Hi meoliver11 - thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Since this seems to be affecting all of your Dropbox Paper docs, I've just gone ahead and sent you an email to have a further look internally at this point.
Whenever you get the chance, please take a look at your inbox and we'll take it from there.

I'm also facing this issue and have tried the solutions recommended above with no success. Roughly a third of all my images are now inaccessible. In some cases, all images from an entire document are gone. This has wiped out seven years' worth of work. I've attached screenshots of just one document below, but it's present across all my documents. If anything can be done to restore these images, I cannot overstate how grateful I would be.

I see, thanks for the screenshot habdams - much appreciated.
If this persists after clearing your browser's cache and on another browser, preferably with no extensions or plugins running, please let me know and I'll send you an email to have a further look internally.

Hey habdams - when you say that your images of proof of work are completely inaccessible, can you elaborate a tad for us? Are you getting any particular errors perhaps and is this affecting all of your Dropbox Paper docs, some or just one?
