Files Will Not Download from Dropbox Links Since Switching to a Static IP From Spectrum
We recently had internet installed from Spectrum. At first we were set up with just a modem and a DHCP public IP and everything was working fine. We requested a static public IP so Spectrum installed a router and gave us a static IP. Since that time most files we try to download via Dropbox links fail. Sometimes they will download if we connect directly to the router rather than through our 48 port network switch but even then they sometimes fail. All other downloads (Google Drive, Hightail, etc.) seem to work fine. I've tried different computers and different browsers all with the same result. We still have our internet from a different provider and I'm able to download files from Dropbox links just fine.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.

You mention that this is happening when trying to download files via links; am I right to presume these are shared links? If yes, what are you seeing exactly? Can you send me a screenshot?
Also, if you have files stored on your Dropbox account, can you try to download a couple of them, and let me know what happens?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I believe they would be considered shared links. We have several clients who send us links that we go to and directly download files to our harddrives (we don't download them to our Dropbox account). We don't usually even login to our Dropbox account to download the files. I'm seeing the issue with several different clients (all those who use Dropbox).
Generally, the files begin to download and then simply fail partway through. Sometimes I get another error message pop up (see screen shots below) I was actually able to get one to fully download a few minutes ago by "retrying" it but that was the first time it actually finished a download rather than failing again.
I did login to my Dropbox account and was able to download a smaller file that had been shared with me.
I'm including a couple screen shots from download attempts.
One strange thing is that when I have the option of where to save the file to it gives the file name (mfps_..... .mpg) but then says, "Which is .... PDF"

From what you’ve mentioned so far, it sounds like the issue lies with the new router.
Is this only happening when trying to download large files? What if you try to download a couple more files that are smaller in size? I’d like to make sure this doesn’t happen at random.
If the issue persists with files larger in size, then I’d suggest checking with your ISP to make sure there’s no restriction there (you should be able to download up to 250GB of data from the Dropbox website at once).
