Notification when copying files to my external drive

If you just copy and paste them then no they wont be informed.

If you have files synced to your computer, and are visible in your Dropbox folder, then copying those files to another drive wouldn't be detected by Dropbox.
This means that the team admin wouldn't be aware of the download either.

Hey Ash9352, can you clarify if you're using personal accounts or if you were referring to a team account with team members and team admin(s)?
Just note that changing the sync status wouldn't notify the admin anyhow though.

Hey again, Ash9352.
In this case, your team admin shouldn’t be notified if you switch the syncing status of your Dropbox files from online-only to available offline, so you don’t need to worry about that.
