Hi Dodecahedrane, let's jump right into this!
Would you be able to share some additional info with me, in order to make sure we're on the same page?
Which platform do you use when trying to preview the file? What are the exact steps you follow on your end?
You also mentioned the file is linked to Dropbox, can you let me know more about this? I'm asking, in order to make sure we're on the same page, before I proceed and provide you with the appropriate next steps.
Keep me posted!

Yeah but what is so hard to understand I said there's a link I'm clicking its a dropbox link, its a presentation that opens in dropbox, but this one time it asked to open in google slides always and i clicked that. So now it only opens these dropbox linked presentations in google slides which is what i don't want and it look impossible to find the setting to get it back to just opening in dropbox not google slides. whe its openened the top link says dropbox.com but its in google slides as a .pptx does that help you enough to understand it. Where can i find the setting to change this so it will stop opening these dropbox presentation files in google slides.

Hi Dodecahedrane, is this a shared link to a file, or is the file in a shared folder?
Have you tried downloading the file to your computer in order to view it on your machine on your own copy of PowerPoint, if you have one?

Hi Dodecahendrane,
Could you try the following to see if this solves the problem?
1. Go to https://www.dropbox.com/account/connected_apps You can also get here by Account -> Settings -> Apps
2. Scroll down to "Default editing apps"
3. For PowerPoint Presentation, select PowerPoint for the web
4. Go back to the page where the file is & refresh
5. Open the file
Thanks!
