Stream videos using .srt subtitles within dropbox

Hi, I can find an answer to that question from ‎2019. It is simply NO without any explanation. Is there anything new on that subject after 2 years ?   Why it is so hard to implement this feature ...

Hey renanbr, welcome to the Dropbox Community! 

The only way the subtitles would be displayed is if the file itself already had them encoded into it.

Keep in mind that, generally, .srt files aren’t supported for viewing on the Dropbox site or the mobile app.

But, I'm not going to lie, this sounds like a promising idea. If you have a moment, please share your idea with us; if enough people vote it up, it may be implemented.

    No, Dropbox does not yet show subtitles, even if they are embedded into the video files. A video with embedded subtitles can display in any modern video player, such as VLC, but no, Dropbox does not yet support this. I work at a university and this poses an accessibility issue for us. We can't use Dropbox to share and collaborate around video content because our mission is to make our content accessible to all students and faculty, regardless of their disability or background.

        5 years later and Dropbox still cannot read subtitles.
