Using the @ function to tag people in comments.
Why can't people that aren't part of our team but have been invited to a folder use the @ function while making comments?
We have figured it out! If the person making the comment has never emailed the person that they are @ing their names don't show. Rookie mistake, idk, but we figured it out :) Thanks for your help!

Hi Heidi12, thanks for posting today!
It should be possible for users to @ others in the same folder. What happens if they try to do so?
Are they doing this via the website, or on the Dropbox desktop application or mobile app?
This will help me assist further!

They are using the desktop app and when they try the only two people that pop up as available @'s are myself and my partner, the other person with admin abilities. ( I don't know that that has anything to do with it, but thought I should mention) It happens on different computers and with different log in's.

Have they added the other users as contacts in their Dropbox account?
What happens if they @ the person's email address (which can be seen in the shared folder) and press enter directly?

Hello,
My coworkers are using the dropbox website to add comments and tags to our business dropbox file. However, I'm not connected all day on a website, I'm using the desktop app.
I don't receive a notification as I received it for google drive. And it's causing frustration to my coworkers who are expecting action from my side. And obviously for me because I don't know what they are expecting from me.
I activate all the notifications, in all places. I'm not planning to use the dropbox website all day just to see the comments or notifications.
Any solutions?
Thanks
Thank you

Hey VyC_Bere, thanks for joining the discussion here and sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Can you please clarify if you're not getting email notifications for comments on shared files your collaborators have @mentioned you or if you're only referring to the desktop app's notifications? - VyC_Bere4 years agoNew member | Level 2
I received emails, but I'm not able to read my emails until 2 or 3 days later.
I'm not receiving desktop app notifications. I'm not connected to the Dropbox Website and not planning to do it.
