Will the owner know if I download a file they shared through a link?
Someone shares a PDF file using the link. I clicked the link, and I was asked to register a Dropbox account to download the file.
I am using my personal email to register this software. But I don't want the owner to know that it is me that have downloaded the file. I am concerned if the owner will know who is downloading their sharing files. What information is shared to the file owner when I download it? I am really new to this software thank you!

Hey scma, thanks for reaching out to us.
If you created a Dropbox account and accessed the link while logged in to that account, the owner of the file will be able to see if you access the link.
Depending on their Dropbox plan, they might be able to see when you last accessed the link as well.
They shouldn't be able to see who downloaded the file, though.
I hope this helps and if you have any questions, let me know.
