After recent Dropbox update files are gone!

Hi and good day,

After the recent Dropbox update (~ a week ago), all files from nvALT are gone!

(This is not the same case as: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Delete-edit-and-organize/NvAlt-and-Latex-usage-prompt-quot-are-you-sure-you-want-to/td-p/286554/page/2 ) but still involves Dropbox / mvALT.

This is a problem here for me, I don't understand how the recent change in DP's interaction with the macos would cause such...

So please help me to find the missing files.

They were in the App folder for DP:

[removed]

There  find years old [removed] modif. date 2016

The newest (modify. today) show gibberish:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

bplist00‘
X$versionY$archiver

and so on
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Where are my files? I had them some days ago, only!

Any assistance will be much appreciated,
OmarKN

Hey Omar N.4, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Have you searched your Dropbox account online for these files?

Do you see anything related to those files in your deleted files page or your events page?

Let me know what you find.

    Hi and good day Hanna,

In Deleted Files there are a few folders, that I have manually sent to be deleted. So the nvALT .txt files are somewhere else.

The relevant folder is [removed] . If you can you may have a look.

It has mostly 6 ReadMes from 2014; the most recent file is [removed], about 67KB.

This file has a lot of gibberish and starts like this:
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

    bplist00‘

    X$versionY$archiverT$topX$objects ܆_ NSKeyedArchiver— TrootÄ Ø b LTU[`cgknstu|}~ ÄÑÖâäéèîïñùû®©™8¨≠Æ≤◊›·‰ËÏÔÛˆ˙˝

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The whole content of this file: [removed]

Also a zipped version is available.

How can those files disappear just like that?

    /
    with best regards,
    Omar KN, Stockholm, Sweden
