I accidentally Synced my iPhone and it deleted the old files
Okay so I have 2 GB storage for many years. upon viewing my old picture files last night, I accidentally switched the synced and override the old files wiped it out. I went to deleted files just like how it’s instructed couldn’t find it. So I deleted the current files to see if i can trace it back to deleted files and I can. But the old files no where to be found. Anyone has any other suggestions would help and appreciated please 🙏🏻
thank you
Erwin

Hi @Erwinvipglobal , thanks for contacting us!
In order to understand what happened, could you let me know what you mean by you 'accidentally switched the synced and override the old files'?
Are there any files in the events page on the site? Are you certain that this is the only email address you've used for a Dropbox account?
This will help me to assist further!

My Drophox camera uploads was turned on and it uploaded current photos from my iPhone. It deleted the old files from Dropbox and could not find it
Thanks

As Rich said, the camera uploads feature can't delete files from the site. Did you see any recent events on your account? Do you have another email address at all which could have a Dropbox account on it?

Hi Jay!
thank you for your response. It was logged in with the same account when it occurred. I didn’t logged off or anything .

Thanks for the info. This wouldn't affect the files on your account, and since there's no record of the files missing in the deleted files page, then there's a few possibilities as to why this might be the case:
- The files are on another Dropbox account
- They were on a shared folder you don't have access to any more
- The files were deleted outside of the 30 day period
- The files were permanently deleted
Aside from that, the camera uploads feature wouldn't delete any files on your account.
