Solved

I had a lot of files in Dropbox that I now can't find.

I have a problem. Or atleast question.
I had folders and files in my dropbox account. Folders with pictures, like a lot of pictures.
Last I wisit my dropbox account was 2020 and then there were all my pictures. But at the moment I only can see the folders names but not pictures in there. Where did my pictures went. And how I restore them. Or something?
Cause i was stupid enough not to make copies of them. All my pictures that i had made like 2009- till 2019 all gone.
That makes me sad. So is there any solution?

  • Hi EvaTJ, it sounds like it wouldn't be possible to recover the files if they're not visible on the deleted files page. Most likely, at some point, the files were deleted from Dropbox or the machine, and this is why they're not on the site any longer.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Hey EvaTJ, I'd be happy to help!

Did you use the desktop app to upload pictures, or the website?

Have you checked your deleted files page, or events page by any chance?

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

Hey EvaTJ, thanks for the additional info!

Do you still have access to the desktop app from which you added these files to your Dropbox account? Are you able to see them within the local Dropbox folder there perhaps?

Besides that, is there any chance that you may have two Dropbox accounts under two different email addresses and your photos are saved on the other account?

    Hello, Nancy.
No i dont have access to the computer cause it broke down and have thrown away.
And i only have one account with one email.
I quess i have lost those photos.
Like, i can see my folders where i had pictures. All folders are available, but the catch is that, if there was 20photos at first the for now there are like 2-4 random pictures left from this folder.
Some folders have some pictures and some of them dont.
I can see mu photos which have synced with my cameras gallery.
But not picutres from my folders.

Hmm, I see what you mean.

Does anyone else have access to these folders perhaps, or are they personal ones?

Were you able to see all of your photos previously on https://www.dropbox.com/home?

Do you remember any filenames perhaps or keywords that may help us investigate further?

I know this is about photos, so it‘s a long shot, but it’s worth a try.
