I've lost files and I cannot find them to recover them

Hello,

I have lost many very important work files. I cannot see any events in the page events from a certain date. I wonder if it is because I changed my loggin email at a certain point. How can I see all the events from my account? If I manage to find the events, is it possible to recover files before the 30days period for my current free subscription if I upgrade my subscription now?

Thank you for your time!

    Thanks for the reply, Violeta.

Even if you were able to see older events in your events page, you'd only be able to recover files within the recovery window your current plan has.

So, if the files were deleted at any date that's more than 30 days ago, the files wouldn't be able to get recovered.

I hope this clarifies things, but if you need anything else, please let us know.

  • The oldest I can go in the events list is April 2025, which is not that old. Beyond that date no events appear.
And yes, I can see other files in my account, not all of them have been deleted.

    Thank you for your support

    Hi again, Violeta!

I think what Mark was asking, is if you're still able to see your other files in the account or if there are no files in the account at all.

As for your events, you should be able to see them on this page, however, keep in mind that really old ones won't appear in the list.

Hello, thank you for your answer. I changed the email, I did not create a new account. It would probably be interesting to see the events of deletion, even if I couldn't recover them.

Simply put, no it isnt. Sorry

Changing your log in doesnt change the account in anyway, just the email on it. Do the other files still appear?

Hey violetarodriguez, thanks for joining the Dropbox Community.

Can you please clarify what you mean when you say that you changed your login? Did you simply change the email address associated with your account?

Or is it possible that you created a second account? If that's the case, the missing files might be saved in the other one.

I'd suggest you try to log in with your old email, to see if you're able to do so.

Otherwise, if you're on a Basic or Plus account, the recovery window for deletions is 30 days. If the files were deleted before that, you wouldn't be able to recover them, I'm afraid, even if you upgraded your account.

Let me know what you find!
