My files are missing. How can I recover them?
Hi there, I missed a large amount of files in a few folders (photos and videos mostly) from my Dropbox. I have them synced to my Macbook. I didn't delete any of them and this morning they just disappeared. I checked the the "Events" page on Dropbox web, and there was no indication that I moved or deleted my files. There were not in trash either. Please help!

Have you tried using the search bar in your account on dropbox.com, to see if it gives you any results, Gothdolphin?
- Gothdolphin2 years agoExplorer | Level 4I just tried it and Iām still missing several hundred files from a folder. How can I get whatās gone back?

Hey Gothdolphin, is it possible that you're looking at a different account, hence why you can't locate them?
When was the last time you were able to view the content when visiting your account online?
- Gothdolphin2 years agoExplorer | Level 4No it was this account, which is my only account. I viewed them last week.
- Gothdolphin2 years agoExplorer | Level 4Yes Iāve tried that to no avail. Could I reach out to drop box to get them back?

Hi Gothdolphin, as you mentioned you've upgraded to a paid plan, you should be able to email or chat to a live support agent from this page when logged into your account on the site.

Same thing has happened to me. Entire folders completely empty, 100s of files missing. They werenāt deleted, arenāt anywhere in Dropbox, Iāve done a search and all other suggestions in the auto replyās you received. Iām 100% reliant on Dropbox for storage and I canāt even talk to anyone there. Did you get any answers that might be helpful. It almost feels like my folders were hacked but there is no sign of intrusion or malware etc on my computer

Hi. I also have a large number of file/ folders missing. I have reviewed the deleted files folder to attempt recovery and it is empty. The activity tab shows nothing at all. This was shared with a subcontractor who can also no longer see any files or folders. Work was carried out within the last 12 months in these folders.
