The .pdf file extensions removed when moving files to a different folder.

When moving all the pdf files in a particular folder to a newly-created sub-folder, about 90% of them lost their pdf extensions!

I have therefore had to add the missing extensions to each of the file names one by one!

For some reason, when I tried to restore the files to the original folder, it would not let me restore them all at once! It would only let me do it one by one, which was slower than manually adding the pdf extension to each file in the new folder.

Is this due to some sort of bug?

Hi Davidh2, let's jump right into this!

How exactly do you move these files? Which platform do you use on your end: mobile app, desktop app or website?

Do you notice this behavior in a particular folder or all of them?

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

Hi Megan, I moved them by dragging and dropping using the desktop app on a laptop PC running Windows 10.

The odd thing was that I moved some of the files into one sub-folder, and they were fine, and some into another sub-folder but 90% of these had lost their pdf extensions!

Since posting I have managed to correct the affected files by using a batch renaming command.

Glad this is now fixed Davidh2!

Please keep an eye on it, and let me know if this happens again. Thanks!
