Walter,
There's nothing substantive from you in my email. I checked spam.

2 years agoHey Ant P86 - sorry to hear about this.
Could you clarify your device's OS version and walk us through the exact steps you take to do this?
A screenshot of the exact error you're getting would be much appreciated.
- Ant P862 years agoExplorer | Level 3Yes I can is there an email I can send the screenshot too?

Chat support agent Devin placed Apple under the bus and advised I reach out to Apple.
It was noted "since the problem is only on Safari and you did not encounter the issue with other browsers, that proves that it is not a Dropbox issue. Clearing your cache and restarting your device are the only troubleshooting steps that we can offer for this case since the problem seems to be outside of our scope."
Seems with others reporting similar troubles this issue may lie with Dropbox app on iOS 17.3. What do you advise?

Since I can see from the other reports that this is mostly an issue on Safari, contacting Apple as the next step would be a good way to go and it’ll help us isolate the issue more.
If Apple says indeed they can’t see anything wrong on their end, let me know and we’ll look into this further. In case your existing ticket closes automatically in the meantime, no worries, we’ll open a new one for you.

I’m not certain this is just a Safari issue. It’s also an issue when trying to share to Dropbox in the Yahoo Mail and other apps on iOS devices.
This used to work perfectly for me. But since Tuesday’s iOS update, if I am in the Yahoo Mail app on my iPad and click Reader Review on an email or article I’m looking at in the Yahoo Mail app, I CANNOT share it to Dropbox. And I used to be able to.
I’m not understanding why Dropbox can’t or won’t reach out to Apple, let them know the complaints you all have been receiving from us, and work with Apple to try to isolate whether the issue is on their end or yours. Also, Dropbox has not updated its app this week. Dropbox last updated it’s app last week. But this week, Apple updated to iOS 17.3 and iPad OS 17.3. Perhaps some things need updating on Dropbox’s end due to the iOS and iPad OS updates?
- Otroftheyear2 years agoHelpful | Level 5I call Apple and opened a ticket on this issue. They contacted me and ran tests. Seems it is a problem with down loads from Safari to Dropbox only. We tried PDF download to Dropbox and got the no internet message, then tried the same thing to icould. That worked fine then once more to OneDrive. Worked fine. Apple then said the it’s a Dropbox problem that they have to fix within there code.

Thanks for the info. Not surprised that Apple verified trouble was with Dropbox code.

I installed iOS 17.4 yesterday. While the same “couldn’t save” window appears when I click on the Dropbox icon, or select Save to Dropbox, for at least some websites, the Share dropdown offers “Save to Files,” when it previously did not. When that option’s available, I can save directly to Dropbox, which I’d integrated into my iPad files.

- FireChief2 years agoHelpful | Level 5There is another thread that is closed from iOS 15 reporting this same problem. The fix, if any, was never reported. I didn’t have an issue then but I do now.

Thank you Dropbox for resolving this issue. I was very happy to see that with the latest version of the Dropbox app that was available in the iOS App Store, the issue is now fixed. I tested it and was able to save PDFs right from the Safari browser to the Dropbox app.
