A link is generated but I'm getting an "Unable to copy link" error on my Mac.
Hi there!
I am having this same issue on multiple files and folders currently - the link is generated but says "Unable to copy link" when I try and use it. I have restarted my mac and dropbox, and...

Hey AnnieJ!
If you haven’t tried this already, can you relaunch your Finder with these steps and let me know if the behavior remains the same?
If this doesn't work, please try to quit and relaunch the Dropbox app as the next step. Have you also restarted your device since the issue started?

Hi Megan!
Thanks so much for responding.
This is a relatively new issue - I'd say the past two weeks or so?
It is doing the same on older folders and if I create a brand new folder to share.
This is the message I'm getting:
I can Transfer the files, but I can't copy the link directly from here which is super frustrating.
I have reviewed all the articles and issues on the links you shared and none of them apply. These are all owned media files, none of them is publically shared and none of them are too large. I have restarted everything but nothing seems to help!
I haven't received any emails from DropBox on this.
thanks,
Anneleigh.

Can you check if you're able to create and copy links when logging in to your account on the Dropbox website?

Hey AnnieJ!
It might sound trivial but have you tried signing out of the app, and then back again?
If this doesn't work can you let me know the following: As a first step, could you clarify the app's current syncing status and version that you're using along with the device's OS?
You can find the version, and syncing status by hovering your mouse over the little Dropbox icon in your menu bar next to your WiFi.- AnnieJ1 month agoExplorer | Level 4
Hey Megan!
That seems to have worked - I've logged back in and could create a link now. 🙃
I had tried this previously with no luck, and out of interest the animation on the "creating a link" thinking loop has now reverted to what it was before. It stopped working when the new animation and the three blocks graphic including the QR code link was happening, so perhaps there was a glitch in that update?
Either way, thank you so much for the assistance, it is much appreciated!
Have a wonderful festive season 🌻
Annie.
