To present this as a solution is ridiculous.
There is NO explanation as to how member mikemohr "disengaged" Dropbox.

Of course you can.

However, I am going to do a Clean Install of my iMac in a week of so for other reasons.
Is their some kind of "deauthorization" I need to with Dropbox on my computer?

If you're going to be doing permanent changes to your computer, I would suggest unlinking your computer from your Dropbox account and relinking it, when everything is finished, to avoid any kind of file loss.
Also, before I send you an email, can you also make sure that you've given Dropbox full disk access?
