File uploaded without permission?
I never authorized Dropbox to upload all my files way back in the beginning. It was included with Windows and just automatically uploaded all my files without my permission.
Now I'm getting requests to pay for storage. WHY?
While I might want storage for certain things, I am angry that Dropbox keeps uploading my files without my permission and it seems like a ploy to railroad me into paying for storage.
Not happy!

Dropbox doesn't, and can't, upload your files without your consent. If you have Dropbox installed, then anything you place in the Dropbox folder on your local drive will sync to your account. Also, if you have the backup feature enabled, your key folders (Desktop, Documents, etc.) are moved into your Dropbox folder so they too can sync. Dropbox can't do this without you opting in to it. Either you activated the option in Preferences, or when you signed in to the app you clicked through the screen about using Backup, which would have enabled the feature.
