Dropbox app tries to sync files that are no longer there

i had 2 files in my dropbox most of the summer - in a folder that was synced.   I moved the file back to my local server after i came back from vacation. those two files are working fine from their location for edits etc.   however dropbox keeps insisting it wants to 'sync' the moved files.  rather than acknowleding that they are no longer 'there' to sync.. its 'followed' their trail and trying to sync them from my Nas.   ??

I tried checking preferences -- no nas folders are there to sync.  i checked the files on the error - only option is to 'view files' which just shows me they are in their correct location on the nas.

i have rebooted my mac -- and b4 that restarted drop box app.  nada

any ideas how i can it to 'let go' of theses two files??

thanks in advance

ciara

Thanks for posting this here, ciara

Can you let me know the current syncing status, and app version of your Dropbox app?

If you go to www.dropbox.com, can you see these files there, or have they been successfully removed from your account?

    Keep me posted.

Hi ciara, are these shortcuts of symlinks to a NAS? Are those two files physically located in the Dropbox folder?

no they were moved from dropbox folders months ago. I have just gone thru my folders and cleared out a bunch of weeds that i dont need in the cloud any more.. to see if its a space issue but i have no idea how it even "knows" those files are on my nas.. i've never synced any nas folders.  I removed a TON of stuff.. and now its ironically telling me my dropbox is full..

Could you try quitting the Dropbox desktop application entirely, and then delete the cache folder on your machine.

Afterwards, try starting up the app again.
