Dropbox will not recognize my external hard drive

I recently just did migration assistant and am using a new laptop. same type as before.

My external hard drive (g-drive) worked on dropbox before. However, now it does not ask me if i want to back up the device when i plug it in. there apparently is NO manual way to do it either??? I think i should note that i recently deleted the G- utilities partition, because it always popped up on my computer when i plugged my hard drive in and didn't seem to hold anything, i now know that that is what makes it compatible with windows. However, i did not think i needed that anyways since i only use Mac.

My external hard drive is formatted as Mac OS journaled.

Someone please help me, this is driving me nuts. i've talked to dropbox support 5 times and nobody is helping me.

Since you mentioned that you've already contacted our Support team on your end, would you be able to let me know if you have any active/open ticket numbers with them at the moment?

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!
