Files are not uploading to Dropbox.

I need to give Dropbox permission. How do I do that?

Hi jrobe, thanks for posting on the Community and happy Monday!

Just to make sure we're on the same page, could you send us a screenshot of the error you're getting so that we can have a visual too?

    Thanks!

Files I have the most problem with are photos from my scanner. Thanks!

    Thanks for the screenshot, jrobe!

Can you clarify for me how exactly you connected your scanner to Dropbox and what steps you’re usually following to upload your scanned files to your Dropbox account?

My scanner puts files in a folder called Scanner which is a subfolder of Dropbox. I have even tried moving the scanned photos to different folders with no luck. Something seems to have changed. I didn't have this problem until recently.

Hi jrobe, can you try to rename some files online, and check if they sync without any issues?

Also, if you click on the "How to fix" article, do you see any steps that you can follow?

Renaming doesn't help, "How to Fix" doesn't help. So how do I "Give Dropbox permission to access this file"?

Hey jrobe, do you use a Mac or a Windows device?

Also, what is the version of the app that you have installed on your device? You can find this by hovering your mouse over the little Dropbox folder, on your task or menu bar, next to your WiFi.

I use both Mac and Windows. For Mac I have 174.4.5852 and on Windows it is 173.4.6706.

Hey jrobe, do you see the error on both of these devices?

Could you try the steps in this thread to see if you can repair the hardlinks in the Dropbox folder to see if it helps the app to sync?
