How do I sync my Mac and iPhone?
Hi!
I am trying to empty my Mac computer and I want to transfer all my files and pictures through Dropbox.
When I look at my Dropbox files in my iPhone they are not synchronized with what my Dropbox in my Mac shows.
I am afraid to lose all my files existing on my Mac.
How do I synchronize my Dropbox on my Mac with my Dropbox app on my iPhone?
---------------------------------

Hi Cecilia W
Have you made sure you are using the email address and account on both? If you add a photo on your phone does it appear on your computer?

Yes, I am using the sam email. Have changed the photo in the app on my iPhone but it doesn't appear on my Mac.

When you say in the app is this the Dropbox app? It doesn't sync things like Photos on the iPhone - it only does a one way sync of what you put in the app. If you then edit a photo on the phone it wont update on Dropbox.
So if you DID edit / delete or add in the app and its not sync'd to the computer its one two things - you have 2 accounts OR Dropbox isn't running on the computer. To see if its running look for the Dropbox icon near the computer and mouse over it to see what it says

If I open the map Dropbox on my computer/harddrive it does not look like in my browser on my mac or in my iphone app.
Is it possible to send you a screen shot of how it looks like? - Mark12 months ago

Yes of course you can attach them here - but you need to do it via the computer and not phone 🙂
It does very much sound like you don't have Dropbox running on the computer, however.

Thank you 🙂
But, again, that doesnt look like Dropbox is running. Did you check that? What does the Dropbox icon at the top say if you mouse over it? If its NOT there have you started it from the Apps folder?

If I move the mouse over the icon on my map, it does not show anything. I am not sure of what you mean.

Dropbox should have an icon at the top on the status bar near the clock. When you hover over it it should say what the version is and something like 'up to date'.
Dropbox can only run if it appears there.
Go to the applications folder and open Dropbox again to make sure its running.
