Hey ming3838, thanks for joining us on the Dropbox Community.

Can you give us some more info on the error you're getting? What does it say?

And is this a link someone else sent you, or did you create it?

Let me know and we'll go from there.

The error is this, "For some reason the file load failed If it was a coincidence, it may be enough to refresh the page. You can also ask for assistance.", a famous music artist, on his site has put the dropbox link to be able to download the file in question.

    Thanks for the update, ming3838.

I'm assuming refreshing the page didn't work, so I'd suggest opening the link from a different browser or a private browsing window as well, to see if it helps.

Is it possible that the owner of the file has deleted the file or the link itself? Is there a way to check that on your end?

I have already checked, by uploading a file, I copied the link and the file was deleted, and rightly so when I access the link of the file that was deleted, it obviously tells me that the file itself was deleted, while the error that I described to you does not say that it was deleted, so the file is there, but the site for some problem, cannot load the file, it is a dropbox problem

ming3838, even in that case, the best course of action would be to check with the owner of the file, if that’s possible (to make sure that both the original file and the shared link that was created for it are intact).

Let me know if that's not a possibility, though.

That's your only course of action in this case. Dropbox can't help you with access to a file that you don't own. If there really is a problem with the link, the owner of the file can contact Dropbox for support.

Keep in mind, also, that just because the error you received doesn't indicate that the file was deleted, that doesn't necessarily mean that the file is still available. The link to the file could have been removed, or the account may have reached a bandwidth limit, etc. There are many, many reasons why a link could stop working.

In cases like this, all you can do is contact the owner of the link and notify them of the problem.
