I got a DMCA in 2023, but I still can't share files, even though I've deleted the file in question.

Hey guys, hoping someone on staff can help me out.

I got a DCMA complaint against a file I was sharing back in January of 2023. (Purely based on the file name and not because any of the contents were actually infringing, but I'm not here to debate that.) So I read the scary notice, and although I felt it wouldn't stand up to scrutiny I decided the fastest way to resolve it would be to comply and delete the file from my account and remove all links online that previously pointed to it. However, my sharing feature remains disabled over two years later. I finally decided to get a trial of the Plus plan to see if that would jumpstart anything, but the matter remains unresolved.

So as my last resort I'm coming here. Is there anything else I need to do in order to get the sharing restriction lifted from my account? It is not and has not been my intent to share any copyrighted content on your platform.

Thanks for your time.

Hey Cralex, thanks for posting on our Community today.

From what I gather, you’re receiving this error message when trying to share the files on your Dropbox account, correct?

If yes, I can go ahead and log a ticket to the email address you see here

Let me know if that’s OK.

Hey there. Trying to generate a share link on the website to any file in my account gives me this error:

Error in call to API function /2/sharing/create_shared_link_with_settings: We’ve interrupted your sharing activity because we’ve received a copyright complaint against your files. We’ll send you an email with more details.

Yes, please log a ticket. The email on my account is correct and a reliable way to reach me. Thanks.
