Issue uploading photos with Camera Uploads from Android via WiFi
I have camera upload turned on only via WIFI(use mobiledata is off) the app says I´m offline.
I can can reach my photos via the app open and browse via WIFI so that works.
so know the strange thing
1.I set my phone into flight mode (no network at all)
2.turn on WIFI explicit(still phone in flight mode, no mobile network)
3.open Dropbox app and allow to upload/sync via mobile network , it starts to work, but the phone is still in flight mode, so no mobile network is avail.
Is this a bug?
I´m having Samsung Galaxy S10+

Sorry to see that you're having this issue, Anders W..
If you just allow your phone to upload the photos through mobile data, while not on flight mode, does it work?
Also, which Android version are you on and which Dropbox version?
Do you have at least 500mb of free space on the device itself for the Dropbox app to work correctly?
Let me know and we'll go from there.

Dropbox version 358.2.4
Android version 12
yes it works , but the reason for not uploading via mobiledata is just for saving the mobiledata

Thanks for checking that, Anders W..
I understand what you're saying about the mobile data.
Since the files are getting uploaded while on mobile data, but not on WiFi, you might need to reach out to your internet service provider directly to investigate further.
There might be a setting on your connection of router that's blocking the uploads.
Have you tried a different WiFi connection, to see if you're having the same issue?

Hi
Just to be clear uploading stops to work every time I switch off mobile network even though I have robust WIFI and tested several different WIFI networks and locations.
So the app shows "you are offline , connect to WIFI...... "
I have rely good understanding and knowledge in networks as I work as network/firewall technician. - Hannah2 years ago

Thanks for the update, Anders W..
If you haven't already, can you uninstall the app, restart the device and then reinstall it, to see if that helps?

Hi, I ran into the same problem as described by user Anders W.
Reinstalling does not solve the issue.
Also I have a perfect WIFI connection. As it seems, the problem is that the Dropbox Android App does not recognize that WIFI is actually WIFI. Proof of this assumption: when I turn OFF my mobile data and turn ON 'upload over mobile data', the syncing over WIFI just works fine.
Problem remains that I cannot leave my house with this setting as syncing would consume all my mobile data if I would keep 'upload over mobile data' turned ON.
Please advise what to do. - Hannah2 years ago

This is indeed very strange, martijnros.
If you turn off the 'upload over mobile data' option and connect to a different WiFi, what do you see?

Hi Hannah, I have tried throught other WIFI network, no difference.

Hey martijnros. Did you clear the app's cache before reinstalling?
It may sound trivial, but have you restarted your router, since the issue began? If yes, did it help at all?

Hi Nancy, yes, I did clear the app's cache before reinstalling. I also restarted my router. I also did 10 push ups. Nothing.
