Option to rename a file before uploading through the iOS app is not working

Suddenly today (and for the first time ever that I can remember) the RENAME button in the iPhone app upload is dead (does not work). Help please - I need to rename before uploading anything to Dropbox.

Thanks, amcoffice

An update for others facing this new issue:

    Dropbox Support told me:
"From our end, we know that you cannot rename a photo directly from the Photos app in an iPhone, however, we do not have an alternative as it is outside Dropbox's environment. You can check Apple's guides for that."

Still not sure if that addresses the current issue, but I just had a long conversation with an Apple tech supervisor, and Apple of course says the rename issue in Dropbox share is a Dropbox issue.

FYI Here's an alternative to Photos app to upload renamed photos to Dropbox.
Open Dropbox iOS app, click + at bottom of screen and then select upload photos.
    Select photo(s) and click ADD
    Rename them and upload.

That said, I'd appreciate someone (Dropbox or Apple) fix the Photos iOS app rename-and-upload option for Dropbox sharing would return.
    Thanks,
    amcoffice

    Dropbox Version 434.2, iOS 18.5

I have not had the opportunity to try those steps; I have too much in progress to re-start and I can workaround by renaming the file after upload.

This problem is concurrent with when my Dropbox version was updated to 434.2.

In the meantime, if there's anything else we can assist with, feel free to reply back here!

I have done all of the troubleshooting suggested and then some. All of the fields operate on share upload to Dropbox except for rename. This is a feature I use on a daily basis. Furst trouble I noticed was about 12:30pmCST. All help welcome.

Edit: Dropbox version 434.2.2 + iOS version 18.05

    Sorry to hear that, Datahound.

Do any of the troubleshooting steps provided in my previous reply help at all?

Have you tried anything on your end to troubleshoot this so far?

And can you also let me know which Dropbox app version and iOS version you're using?

I noticed the same problem yesterday and it occurs specifically when uploading via Share.

Hi there, amcoffice, sorry to see that you're having this issue.

I just tested this on my own device and it works fine for me; have you restarted your device at all after this issue started happening?

If it persists after a restart, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Dropbox app, to see if that helps.

Keep me posted with the results!
