Pause sync when on mobile hotspot
Is there a way to automatically set dropbox to pause sync when i am connected to my mobile hotspot, and then recommence syncing when connected to anyother web connection?
Many others have requested that Dropbox add such a feature in the past, yet they've never added it. You can search the Share feedback forum for those posts and add your own comments to them.

I was able to solve the issue using Keyboard Maestro which I have been using to automate a variety of other tasks. Using Keyboard Maestro it is possible to create a macro that will quit an application (Dropbox in this case) when a specific named network (my iPhone hotspot) is connected. I created a second macro to launch Dropbox when the hotspot is disconnected.

Very disappointing response here, with no change in years.

I'm working around this with the Bartender app, which can hide Mac status bar items using logic you specify.
I show the Dropbox icon only when I'm connected to my Hotspot, *and* Dropbox is not paused. That way it comes to my attention immediately - I notice the Dropbox status bar icon because it's usually hidden. That's my trigger to click pause.
Here's what it looks like (just substitute your network name):
This seems like an obvious oversight from Dropbox and it's very disappointing that there's no native solution, but this seems reliable (if a bit manual) for now.
(I've found Bartender useful for several other things, like showing Battery icon only if running on battery power, and showing Wifi icon only if I'm not connected.)
