Share a folder with everyone - also for people without having a Dropbox account.
Hi
Dropbox is killing me.
I want to create a folder, who everyone with the link sent via email or through our website can view/download files. However, it seems, I only can create a folder for teammembers or need to invite people (mail) to share it.
Is it possible, to create a folder who everyone can view and download files from without having an dropbox account or being part of our team?
Hi Everybody,
If your shared links have stopped working, please refer to this Help Center article for troubleshooting steps. If your links still don't work after taking these steps, you can contact the support team for further assistance.
As Rich mentioned, shared links default to the “Can Edit” setting. You can restrict access to “View Only” for each link you share. You can read more about managing sharing permissions here.
Regards,
Ben

Hi everyone, could you clarify the exact steps you're taking to create a shared link?
If you're on a Dropbox Business team, could you also clarify that your team admin hasn't enabled settings to prevent shared links from being visible outside of the team?

Hi Jay,
I have basically tried all ways to share - and yes, since I am admin, I have not changed the settings.
Not sure what to look for as default but I find it very strange, that no one outside my team can access a link that I share for viewing. It used to work fine.

If you try to visit downloads - it says file is deleted - but the file is still there - link is correct.

Hi ThomasKronevald, thanks for the info. I'd recommend contacting the support team directly for them to investigate this matter further.

I'm from the same team and have the same information as her. At this point, to find out what is happening to your shared links, the support team would need to look into it in more detail.

Ben,
the point is, we did not:
1) change anything
2) adjust settings not change admin roles
3) view or edit did not change
in other words...it stopped working. But I found another solution - another online service similar, just easier and great support.

If you did not make any of these changes, the most likely culprit for the broken link is the link creator leaving the shared folder. You can get these links working again by adding the creator of the links back to the shared folder.

Ben
