Shared File with user, they upload files and file names change

We shared a folder with a user outside our organization and gave them permission to edit, upload, etc. When they upload files, it changes all of the file names and makes them very hard to work with. ...

Hi Lauran, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

 

This looks like a normal 8.3 filename which is used on DOS or older versions of Windows, where the full filename is too long, and it is automatically shortened.

 

This would be unrelated to Dropbox, since file names of any length are supported, so it should be related to whatever app or OS that user is using, which is renaming the files.
