The new Transfer window animation is S-L-O-W!
The new Transfer Window animation where it animates the files being packaged up in a gift box is unnecessary and is adding sometimes upwards of 15 seconds while I wait for the "copy link" button to be available. This used to be a nearly instantaneous process with no delay.
All of my files are already uploaded to dropbox and indicate this with a green check-mark in my dropbox folder on my mac. Then, when I choose "Transfer a Copy", and then click on "Create Link" in the bottom right of the Dropbox Transfer window that opens, I sometimes have to wait 15 seconds for the silly new animation to finish.
Why? This aspect of Transfer worked perfectly before. This slow-down in functionality seems un-necessary. Please get rid of the anmiation and just allow us to get quick access to the link so we can copy it and email our clients.
Thank you.

Hey Octave Music, let's jump right into this!
If I understand correctly, it sounds like you're using our desktop app when creating a Transfer. Do you notice the same behavior when using the website?
Also, does this happen with all the files you try to upload, or larger ones?
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

About 4 seconds for a very small file. About 15 seconds for a 250MB file.
I don't know about the website...I never use it.

And also to clarify...this is not to upload the files. The files are already uploaded as indicated by the green checkmark. This is once already in the Transfer App, and just waiting for the link to be created.

Hey Octave Music, if you could try the website too, that would be helpful since it'd give us an insight.
Also, do you notice the experience being consistent regardless of the network connection? Can you try a different one, just to check?
If I were you, I'd also make sure that there's no third-party app interfering with Dropbox. You can temporarily try to close any, and notice if the app behaves the same way then.

The website does not do the new "silly" animation with the Package/Present being wrapped up with a bow on top. The website looks more like how the Desktop Transfer App used to look up until a couple of weeks ago. I have 1000 mb/s upload and download. There is nothing about my network connection that is causing this issue. This is the new animation on the Transfer Desktop app. Do you know to what I am referring to when I write the "Animation" in the Desktop Transfer app?

Hi Megan-
I made a quick screen recording demonstrating EXACTLY what the issue is:

Hi-
I would also like to add that I observed my network activity activity when I clicked on the "Create Link" button in the Transfer app window. There was no data being uploaded or downloaded from my computer. This is because I already have the files synced to the Dropbox cloud. There is a 12-15 second amimation waiting period prior to being able to click the button to copy the link simply for graphical interest. Please change the app back to how it used to be and do away with the loading the box and closing it up animation which takes time up.

Hi Megan-
One more detail I noticed last night. It is also evident that the animation duration is unnecessary because I consistently get my email notification that I have created a new transfer 5 seconds BEFORE the package loading animation is completed in the Transfer window.
That means that dropbox is sending out an email that I created a new transfer [which contains the link in it], it travels all the way through gmail, and then pushes to my computer 5 seconds before the animation is completed. That is really showing that the animation is unnecessary. 15 seconds of sitting waiting for the animation to finish so I can copy the link feels like a long time when I'm sending my 20th link to clients at 3:30 in the morning. - Megane Racat19 days ago

Hi Octave, thanks a lot for flagging this issue! We've stopped the current experiment we were running for Transfer while we work on improvements based on your feedback, so you should regain access to the familiar legacy UX shortly.
