time left in sync gone again
I know there is an older (2019) post about this, but the time left to sync seems to have disappeared again. any idea why this has disappeared again. Now when I hover over the icon, it just shows 'updating' and no info about time left. As the 2019 messages indicated, this was helpful and it would be great to have it back.

Hi none22. Do you have access to this email address, so that we can contact you there? Let me know.

They removed this crucial feature back in 2019 and, after a lot of complaints, reinstated it. Now it seems it's been removed again, but I can't find many posts on here mentioning it, apart from this one. DropBox NEED to reinstate this feature asap, as having zero idea how long your upload has left is beyond frustrating.

yes - and though a previous message said they were aware of the problem, there has still been no fix.

Hey none22, I can see that two of my colleagues have offered to send you an email, in order to look into this issue further, but you never confirmed.
Would you like us to do that?

this seems to be a systemic problem, so I don't see what giving you my email will do to solve the problem for me and other users who are having the same experience.

OMG, I've found it!! Not sure why the DropBox Staff who commented above didn't bother offering this information, but I've just discovered that this upload progress time indicator has been moved, not removed! I always have my DropBox Finder widget (top menu bar on my Mac) set to show me 'Activity' and it is here that I used to see the time indicator at the bottom. This now shows a useless progress bar, hence why I (and others) had assumed DropBox had removed this feature. However, I happened to click over to the 'Sync History' tab, while a file was uploading, and there it is at the top! It shows the current file(s) uploading, with a size left and time left indicator beneath them. Happy for DropBox to forward their support staff's yearly bonus to my account for this one 😉

? maybe that's what shows up on a mac, but on a pc in sync history you get the number of mgb out of the total mgb that have been uploaded so far, but no time. so you have to just guess how long the remaining mgb would take to upload. so at least for pc users, the function is still missing

@Korrofilms This is helpful but I am also on Mac and experiencing what @none22 says; there is size and remaining, but no time remaining.

- yep - seeing the same thing on my pc - so you can see what's been uploaded so far, but not time remaining. and since the initial response, nothing but crickets here about if/when this might be fixed.
- Korrofilms2 years agoHelpful | Level 6Yeah, it appeared for me, then disappeared again. It was showing individual files with their time left and data size remaining info alongside them, so more useful than the old single time left indicator. But then it started screwing up, showing files had finished uploading, when they hadn’t at all, and now it’s gone entirely. No idea what’s going on, as no one from DB support seems to care to respond properly.
