Uploads on macOS Ventura are suddenly too slow
I'm running the latest version of macOS Ventura (13.7) on a 2017 iMac. Everything was perfect until recently, when the Dropbox upload got too slow. I have done all the necessary checks, including dis...

2 years agoThanks for checking, Antonis.
Can you try the rest of the troubleshooting steps in the article as well, in case anything else helps?
Also, how many files do you currently have in your Dropbox folder?
And did you notice if there was some kind of update on Dropbox or on your computer before this started happening?

I have performed all the troubleshooting steps to no avail.
I recently updated to Ventura 13.7, the latest OS I can install on my oldish Mac (2017).
My Dropbox is quite sizeable; it contains 2TB worth of data. But I have had it for years; it's not new.

Hi from me too, Antonis_Pet! When saying that the app is syncing, does it report a specific amount of files that are currently being synced?
I’d also like you to clarify the app’s version.

It's stuck in a certain number of files, which varies, but it's never zero; that is, I never see the usual message "Your files are up to date"
The app version is 209.3.3602.

Thanks for that! Now, it looks like you’re on the beta app version (209.3.3602), which is experimental, so you may notice some issues from time to time.
As the next step, I’d like you to go here and disable “Early access”. After that, you can download the latest stable app version from this link.
Let me know if that fixes anything.

I have followed these steps, too, but the problem persists: my Dropbox app (now v. 208.4.5824) is stuck at "syncing 44 files". The number of files may vary, but it's never zero...

Thanks for the update on this Antonis_Pet
Can you please try fixing your hardlinks and permissions and let us know if syncing gets stuck at a specific number of files again?
If it does, send us a screenshot of that too.

I have done it, restarted the app, but nothing has changed. Here is a screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/aa03vxkcabyuqq04zpbi6/Screenshot-2024-09-30-at-18.24.31.png?rlkey=4idl6oou5cb0299nwh1denuun&dl=0

I see, thanks for clarifying that for me, Antonis. In this case, I'd recommend getting in touch with our support team directly as they'll be better equipped to look into this for you with account and device specific infrmation.
Let me know if you have anything else to ask or add in the meantime.
