Why does the Dropbox desktop app hijack my screenshots?
How to stop dropbox from taking my screenshots. The solutions privided do not work. There is no way to get the app to load on a mac. Opening the dropbox icon, which is supposed to open the app just opens the folder. The App never opens so the preferences section is never available to fix this screenshot hijacking issue. This is a known issue why is it not fixed?

You're not clicking the correct icon. That's the icon for the Dropbox folder itself; not the application. You need to click the icon in your menu bar.

Hey 628878848 - thanks for the screenshot.
Can you try reinstalling the app using the offline installer from this page and let us know how it goes?

Does right clicking on it work?

This does not work. The dropbox app NEVER opens so there is no way to get to the solution that support has been providing for years.
I have restarted, installed the latest version still not able to fix this. Crazy.

You have set the app to not open via the preferences.
Try using CTRL or CMD when clicking on the Dropbox icon instead to open the display window.
