Basic storage allowance shows as 2 GB but my account shows 2.75 GB - Which is the correct amount?
Dropbox Plan : Basic
Device : HP Probook 455 G7, OS : Windows 11 Pro, Browser - Firefox
Questions (2!) :
1. I don't understand why Dbox is showing me both 2Gb and 2.75 GB as my total storage allowance (see pic above). Which is it?
2. Also, after receiving a warning for hitting 1.9 GB, over the past few days I moved a bunch of very large files out of Dropbox. "Properties" of the Dropbox folder on my computer (File Explorer) seem to reflect this, sort of, with "size on disk" having been cut down to 1.15 GB:
But both the Dropbox app pop-up on my computer and my account when I log into Dropbox.com show me as still using 1.9 GB.
Does it just take a while for the app to catch up to the actual space being used after you delete files? Or is there some hidden cache or trash bin I need to empty to actually free up that space?
Hey there Lori W.1
Dropbox sometimes gives out small bonus amounts of space. These can come from things like account setup bonuses, referrals, or other promos. It's possible you could have received one of those. So your official plan is listed as 2GB but with the bonuses, you now have a higher threshoild.

Oh, that makes sense — I didn’t realize the extra space could come from temporary bonuses on top of the base plan.
