Hi Dropbox Community, I’m encountering an issue with my storage space. I’ve recently deleted several large files from my Dropbox, but my available storage space hasn’t updated. It still shows the same used space, even though the files are no longer in my account. I’ve tried refreshing, logging out and back in, and checking the deleted files folder, but the problem persists. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any tips or steps to get the storage space to update correctly? Thanks for your help!28Views1like2CommentsDropbox says I'm over-capacity, but I only see a few files, and nothing in Backup. Where are they???
Well, the headline says it all. My account is for 2.0 G, DB says I'm at 3.7, but when I open my files, there are a mere handful, well under 1 G. Backup appears to be empty. So, whither my files?Solved58Views0likes11CommentsFree storage of 30+GB now downgraded completely to 2gb after many years of not using it
Hi, I just checked my dropbox account after more than 4 years and I noticed that my basic account had 30+gb free space before from referrals but now it's reporting 2gb only. I checked my notification and it seems the downgrade started on Dec 2021 onwards. As far as I remember, the referral and other bonuses before should have been permanent. Can anyone from dropbox please revert my storage back? Btw I'm sure im only getting 2gb free now, not just the basic plan but the free storage itself as I'm already getting notification of out of storage50Views0likes2CommentsI have nearly 1.5 GB of ghost files taking up my storage space. Where can I find them?
Basic plan, no extras. 2.25GB of storage total. I have 0 bytes in my backups. I have less than 10 folders, and have accounted for every file in every folder and in all sharing areas, to less than a 100 MB at most. And yet DropBox still says that I am using 1.61 GB of storage. Where? I have left every shared folder that was taking up space, and absolutely cannot find what is eating up all this space. Any ideas? Also, why can't we see the size taken up at a folder level? Especially when friends and colleagues are sharing folders for different projects, a way to quickly see exactly how much space everything is using would be a great tool, which shouldn't be hidden behind a paywall.56Views0likes3CommentsSome files were shared with me by another user and now I'm over-quota. What is happening?
I am very confused. I've had a personal Dropbox for quite some time that I really never used. I was granted access to someone else's box not long ago so that I could read and add files to their box. Any of the files I have added have appeared in that person's box. Soon thereafter, I have been getting messages about being "over my limit,"that my personal Dropbox has "stopped syncing," and that files may be "deleted." I cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on because I have not added anything to my personal account. Does this mean the files in the other person's box will be deleted because I am among those it was shared with, or the one who added some? That is my main concern. If there are files in my personal box that I cannot see or don't know about, I honestly am not worried. But I do not want to negatively affect others because of this situation. Thank you for any insight. MichaelSolved40Views0likes4CommentsMy Basic account is saying I'm over quota, but I'm not, why?
Hi I have a Basic account and am getting notified via a bar at the top of most windows, in the browser version of my account, that "You’re almost out of space! Upgrade to get 2 TB (2,000 GB) or more of space and safely share your content". Clearly, my account can be upgraded from the Basic 2GB limit to 2TB but I am currently almost out of storage I won't be doing this as I will clear the excess down to my NAS by my curiosity was piqued.... When I go to the "Plans" page the message above the plans options also notes "Your account is running out of storage!" and within the Basic plan box notes that I'm "Using 4.96 GB of 2 GB space" So, I'm not nearly out of storage but to my mind I am 150% beyond the permitted maximum for this Basic account. I now select to view my profile and see that under my username are two messages stating that I am "Using 4.96 GB of 5.75 GB storage" and "Upgrade soon to get more space" So option three is that I'm almost at max storage but am still under, again but this time my basic account permits 5.75GB and I have approx 15% headspace remaining. What is going on here? 😀 Is this because my account was created years ago and that the account limit was previously 5GB and reduced to 2GB at some time in the past? Is it possible some people might be being charged for a service that they needn't be paying for (remember messages state that I am almost out of storage, and there is no message noting that I am beyond capacity)Solved33Views0likes1CommentDropbox keeps saying that my account is full, even after removing content.
I only keep the 2GB plan so I regularly delete files after I don't need to share them via links. I have managed to keep my storage between about 1.7 and 1.9 GB regularly. If I get a message that says I am using all my storage I just go in and delete files and that fixes everything. Lately, I have deleted files and put my storage use down below 2GB but then the next day DB says I'm full again. It has happened for three days in a row. I delete, get under 2GB, then the next day I'm full. What is going on? I don't have any shared folders and I don't have Backup set up.69Views0likes5CommentsStorage full message, even though my account doesn't seem to be.
I have an empty drobox folder because it hasn't been used yet but I received the warning "Important Notice: Your Dropbox is full and syncing has stopped. Upgrade to get up to 3TB (3000GB) of space." What should I do?Solved37Views0likes5CommentsLost 6.25GB (of 15GB) from my quota when compared to yesterday's total
I have been a BASIC Dropbox user for years (Maybe 10?). I had accumulated 15GB via new users I had recommended as well as other bonus storage - all in addition to the initial 2GB and more. Yesterday I cleaned up (deleted) several GB to reduce usage 1.1GB in order to upload about 12GB. Today I logged into Dropbox to finish my project and noticed I now have ONLY 8.75GB of the 15GB of yesterday. ... What am I missing here - other than the storage space? ;-) Help, please. ... thanks a million (rather, thanks 6.25 Gigs)42Views0likes6Comments
