Solved

Having trouble deleting my content. The option isn't there.

Dropbox Plan
Basic
Device
iMac
Operating System/Browser (if using the web)
Ventura 13.7.8


Question or Issue
An email from DropBox invited me to save my computer's files to DropBox. When I attempted to do so, I ran out of space and I've since changed my mind. I would like to delete EVERYTHING in my DropBox account but when I follow the help directions, (hover over the files, click the three dots, etc.) I don't get an option to delete. I've tried in both "list" and "grid" format.  See print screen. Please provide simple instructions for deleting everything. I do NOT want to upgrade.

    Based on the info you've provided along with your screenshots, it looks like you're using our Dropbox Backup feature

    When you click the "New location" next to your folders are you redirected to our backups page by any chance? 

    If so, could you please check there if you have the option to delete the content from there?

    Hi there, Lisgck1 welcome to our Community! 

    Based on the info you've provided along with your screenshots, it looks like you're using our Dropbox Backup feature

    When you click the "New location" next to your folders are you redirected to our backups page by any chance? 

    If so, could you please check there if you have the option to delete the content from there?

    Hello Megan,

     

    I am having the same issue as Lisgck1 did, however I am unable to share because I'm over my limit. I do not want to upgrade.

    The 'Complete Puppy Power Toolbox Tutorial Video' folder' is the folder I would like deleted.

    Hey DeborahPlowman, thanks for posting here! 

    Are you talking about an individual folder, or a shared one? Do you see the two-people icon on the folder itself? 

    Lastly, what are the options you see when trying to remove the folder from your Dropbox account?

    Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!
