Same thing happened to me. I kept making space on my computer and in the morning it was all gone. had no idea what was the source of it. finally after devoting hours to the issue, an apple rep have found the source of the issue - Dropbox. 149 GB. (it was in the library, - group containers, .... - root mount). Dropbox is not providing telephone support unless you are on a theme plan (unbelievable). Dropbox is saying that it's because I have too many files in my DB cloud account (hmm, isn't it what is for?). at this point I couldn't even have the app installed correctly so I can uninstall and after deleting the file it kept filling up my drive again. spending hours with apple support who were very helpfull. 2 days later - again my drive is full. 56 GB in library - cloud storage. more time with apple support. I am downloading all my info from the cloud and deleting my account. especially in light of the fact that they don't provide phone support.
