Question or Issue
Some time ago Dropbox notified my that my storage was above threshold because another user shared some huge files with me. I quickly deleted those files and several other and now my storage use is now down to 16,64%.
However, Dropbox keeps sending me mails insisting that I need to upgrade my plan in spite of my low storage usage. It been a few weeks since I lowered my usage to 16,64% but the out of space-mails keep coming.
How do I make this stop? Support rejects my question and has closed the ticket #25687729: Submission from Get Help

Hey Doonesbury, thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to our Community!
The email notifications that you keep receiving, is there any chance they’re being sent to an email address that’s different to the one you see here?Did you attempt to upload any files that would exceed the 2GB mark, before you received this email? Have you gotten multiple emails like that, or is it the only one?
If you checked your account's plan tab and you can see that you're well below your quota limit, you can safely ignore the email at hand or even unsubscribe from such notifications if needed.
If you need something else, please let me know and I will be more than happy to help every step of the way.

Hey Megan.
The e-mail are certainly sent to my mail address.
However, since my storage is below 17% I'm going to follow you advise and safely ignore the mails.
Thanks for your help.

Megan, I received notice my Dropbox is full. I went online to delete old files but Dropbox is holding them hostage until I pay to even look at them to delete them. How can I delete files/folders to reduce storage? Thanks

You don't have to pay to be able to access your files. Are you sure there wasn't an option to close the message and continue to your files? Can you provide a screenshot showing the full window (mask any private information if needed)?

Thanks for the screenshot betsiegricar - much appreciated.
Can you try another browser to see if you get the same results?
If you do, please send us a full page screenshot so that we can have a better look too.

Hey betsiegricar! I was wondering if you had the chance to try out Walter’s previous suggestion.
If you did, please let us know how it went.
