Is it possible that the hidden Dropbox cache folder is taking up space on your machine?
Try deleting the folder using these steps to see if this helps.

This was a known workaround for a long time. But since the big Dropbox update earlier this week, the hidden cache file is no longer visible in the Dropbox folder. We used to have to delete the cache file almost daily when doing lots of culling and editing of files within Dropbox. Now my mac is basically out of storage, but I can't just delete the cache folder, because I can't find it. Help!

7 months agoHey hunterandsarah! If the update you’re referring to is the Dropbox for File Provider one, then it’s expected behavior indeed that the cache folder will no longer be visible on the desktop app, even if you choose the option to see hidden files on your computer.
Is it OK, if we log a ticket for you though? This way, our team can double check if there’s a possible workaround you can try in this case.
