I just accessed my account, but it says it's full.
Hello,
I just logged into Dropbox for the first time. Why am I getting an error message saying that I have reached my storage limit when I have not uploaded anything yet?
That is correct Alliance Housing. 😀
When someone shares their files with you, they also count against your own account's quota.
I hope this helps!

Hi Alliance Housing, welcome to our Community!
Can you check the plan tab in your account settings, and let me know what it reports there? Do you have any shared content taking up space in your account?
Or perhaps you have any active Backups enabled. Can you check that as well?
Let me know what you find!

Hi,
Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, I do have some shared files. So, that means that the shared files take up my storage even though the other person uploaded them to their account? Do they become my files then as well (file saved in both places)?

Uffda, 1 file counts against 2 people's account.
